Every Wednesday at 7.30pm, we meet in our coffee house on the High Street (right next to the entrance to the church). We have discussion, friendship, and we seek to apply the teachings of the Bible to our lives. We pray together for our own needs and the needs of the world around us.
This is not just for people of faith. All are welcome. All are on a journey. All have things to learn, and we learn from each other. Prayer is available for people who want God to touch their lives. People have been changed through God’s power, and some people have even experienced healing.
We sometimes have a series of studies using video clips. Recently we have watched and discussed “The Jesus I never Knew” by Philip Yancy, and “The Prodigal God” by Timothy Keller. In the good weather we have prayer walks through the community, and we sometimes go to local pubs or coffee shops to have our small grouop discussions, to remind ourselves that we are part of the community of Portobello.
